Carnival: March Newsletter

Hey everyone! I just wanted to give you guys an update about Carnival. For those of you who don't know, Carnival is a week-long mardi gras celebration here in Mazatlan. Basically, it is a time of debauchery, drugs, alcohol, & sex before the 40 days of Lent. People come from all over to try & fill a void inside, but that's not what they need. As a base, we go out & tell people about the only thing that can satisfy, Jesus. Over the course of 4 days of ministry, we hand out free coffee, talk to people, evangelize, & pray for anyone who is willing. My boyfriend and I were part of a ministry called Brave Love that specifically seeks out women. We handed out flowers & art, prayed & encouraged many different women from all walks of life. We also got to pray with several families & prepare their hearts for salvation & God moving in their lives.

As a ministry, we saw a total of 878 salvations, 20 healings, and 10 deliverances. We prayed for 1,095 people, and over 2,000 people heard about Christ Jesus. GOD IS SO GOOD Y'ALL!! It was something truly incredible to be a part of, but it took a lot of preparation.

 A whole week before Carnival even started, we as a base felt led to have times of prayer & fasting. Every day during our lunch break, we fasted together & prayed into God's heart. If we, as sons & daughters of Christ, want to see something happen or change in the physical, we have to first pray into the spiritual. In our times, God spoke to us about preparing the hard ground to receive good seeds. During one of these times, we went to a plaza near a catholic cathedral to worship, intercede, & evangelize. We were taking steps to go for what the LORD had prepared for us before carnival even started. As you might know, Mexico is under the stronghold of religion, especially Catholicism. Us taking steps to preach the full & true Gospel right near a cathedral is just a few more steps closer to seeing Mexico transformed by people experiencing a thriving relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, as you might have heard in a past newsletter, Ezra & I were praying about going to Tanzania at the end of this year. However, we both feel like it isn't the time. In that moment, God was definitely setting our hearts on fire for Africa & someday we will go. There will be more opportunities in the future. This was a situation where we thought we heard one thing, but God was teaching us something else. His plans are always better than ours, & His timing is perfect. Another factor was that the organizers hadn't sent official details or dates, but they were discussing some new dates in different months that won't work for us. If this was something on your heart, please reach out. God might be calling you instead! Thank you for your prayers, support, & encouragement. God is using you to empower revival in Mexico.
