Impact: June Newsletter

To be honest, I often get lost in the daily grind of life. The mundane daily tasks and to-do lists fill my head. I’m focused on what needs to be done and the next thing to be done. I’m trying to balance so many different things, and just when something is “just right,” something else starts to slip.

When I finally lift up my head, I can start to think, “Is it worth it? Does it really matter?”

And that’s when the Lord gives me His perspective.

Sharing this story is inspired by talking to my mama on the phone.

I think we all wonder about what we do, and I’m no different. We all need reminders that our lives impact somebody or something else.

God created us to matter. God created us to do things that matter. Stories are reminders of impactful things that we do, whether big or small.

So, to encourage you, I’m just gonna share a story of how I impacted one person. One isn’t a big number, but as you’re reading this story, know you’re a part of it too.

Eva was a girl who came and did her DTS this last January. She is ethnically Indian but lives in the UK.  She is a fiery saxophone player who ushered us into the presence of God whenever she played with the worship team. Honestly, I think I only had 4 long conversations with her. Twice, we prayed for each other, and twice we ate lunch together. But, during those times, I was able to share my experiences with her.

For her Outreach, Eva also went to Cambodia. During our conversations, I shared things that I wish someone had been able to tell me when I went. I talked about the foggy spiritual atmosphere, the heat, learning to have grace for myself, teaching English, and focusing on God through it all.

When she got back after 2 months, we sat down again and I got to hear her story. As Eva was in Cambodia, teaching English, she was reminded that her mom, as a kid, had heard about Jesus through someone teaching English at a school. Now, years later, Eva is continuing this heritage and sharing the Gospel through teaching as well.

When she came back & told me all this, I was amazed at all my God can do! He is not limited to my lifetime & will continue processes throughout the generations. I hope this story encourages you! You are all so loved!
